Checking the coolant level
The coolant level must be between the MIN and MAX marks on the expansion tank. If the engine is hot, wait approximately 15 minutes before checking.
22. Turn away a cover of a broad tank. Given that the temperature of the coolant, even after a quarter of an hour, is quite high, the cover should be removed by placing a rag on it.
23. Loosen the cap, let the air out of the tank and only then remove the cap.
The coolant should be changed every two years.
Attention! Coolant can only be added when the engine is cold.
Checking the cooling system
24. When checking the cooling system, you should visually inspect the radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, expansion tank and heater, and also make sure that the hoses on them are tightly planted and secured with clamps.
25. Check that the cooling system hoses are not hardened, brittle or cracked.
26. Make sure the radiator is not damaged.
27. Check, if necessary, the functioning of the thermostat.
28. Make sure the radiator fan is working properly.
29. If after cooling the coolant the hoses are compressed, then this is a sign of a malfunction of the low pressure valve on the cap of the expansion tank.
30. With the onset of the cold season, check the concentration of the coolant and, if necessary, increase the content of antifreeze.
