Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the auxiliary drive belt.
3. Remove the rubber boots covering the generator terminals, then unscrew the nuts and remove the wires from the generator.
4. On 2.1L diesel engines, remove the power steering pump mounting bolt and move the pump to the side without disconnecting the hydraulic hoses from it.
5. Unscrew the upper generator hanger. Unscrew the lower generator clamp bolt.
6. Remove the generator from the engine compartment.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
