Thermostat — removal and installation (Peugeot 605)

Attention! The procedure is given using the example of cars with a petrol engine ES9J4.


1. Disconnect the coolant sensor connector 1, then remove the air filter and air outlet duct 2 (see illustration).

2. Drain the coolant.

3. Move hoses 8 and 6, and then bracket 3 away from the work area (see illustration)

4. Move hose 7 away from the work site (see illustration 7.3).

5. Remove the thermostat housing 4 (see illustration 7.3).

Installation



7. Install the new thermostat seal 10 (see illustration).

8. Install the thermostat housing in its seat and secure it with bolts: tighten the M8 bolts securing the thermostat housing with a force of 25 Nm, and the M6 bolts with a force of 8 Nm.

9. Next, the installation of the dismantled components is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

10. Fill with coolant and bleed air from the system.
