S - steering wheel lock
The shaft lock is unlocked by turning the key in the ignition lock while turning the steering wheel in both directions. You don't need to put in a lot of effort for this.
A - power on for certain consumers of the on-board network (radio, power windows, passenger seat light, heated seats, etc.). At the same time, the battery charging indicator light comes on.
M -ignition
When the ignition key is turned to this position, all of the following control lights should light up: STOP, battery charging light, ABS (for a while), engine oil level light (for a while), parking brake light, engine oil pressure light, coolant temperature light, check engine operation light, door open light, fuel reserve light and airbag light come on. If the bulbs do not light up, then this is evidence of a malfunction of the car.
D - engine starting
Release the key as soon as the engine starts. Do not engage the starter while the engine is running.
Egnition lock
S. If the key is removed from the ignition, the steering wheel shaft is locked. The shaft can be blocked in any position of the steering wheel. The ignition key can only be removed in position S.
A. Turning the key to this position unlocks the steering wheel shaft.
M.Ready to move.
D. Engine starting.
Note: Never remove the key from the ignition while driving, because the vehicle will not be able to be driven due to the power steering being switched off and the steering wheel shaft to be locked. To block the shaft at the moment of removing the key from the ignition lock, it is recommended to turn the steering wheel in both directions, without applying much effort to the steering wheel.
Avoid high idle engine speeds. In no gear should the engine speed exceed 4,500 rpm.
High speeds, hard acceleration and high engine speeds increase engine oil consumption. After driving approximately 5,000 km, oil consumption can be up to 0.5 l, depending on the driving style.
If the STOP warning light comes on, stop immediately and take the actions recommended by the manufacturer in this situation.
To prevent damage to the turbocharger, the engine must be idle for a short time before shutting down.
