Ignition lock and key positions in it
S - turn off the engine and remove the key from the lock.
A - power supply of the on-board network.
When the key is turned to this position, the ignition remains off, but power is supplied to the consumers of the on-board network. The battery charging indicator light on the instrument panel comes on.
M - ignition.
When the key is turned to this position, the following warning lights come on:
- engine oil pressure;
- coolant temperature:
- battery charging;
- immediate stop (STOP);
- preheating. Vehicles with a diesel engine;
- parking brake/brake fluid level:
- engine self-diagnosis:
- control / indication of the presence of a burnt out light bulb:
- damper adjustment Light on for approx. 3 seconds;
- ABS Light on for about 3 seconds;
- airbags. The light is on for about 3 seconds.
The fuel level is shown on the display if the vehicle is equipped with an instrument panel with a display.
The engine oil level warning light comes on for a few seconds and goes out if the oil level is correct. When the engine oil level is low, the light flashes for about 10 seconds. As soon as the engine oil indicator begins to function, its arrow should move to the range of the white scale, confirming that the amount of engine oil in the sump is normal. If the engine oil level in the oil pan is insufficient, the pointer remains in the red range of the scale. In this case, you should check the engine oil level by placing the car on a horizontal surface.
D - engine start.
Once the engine has started, the key should be released. After starting the engine, the following warning lights go out:
- engine oil pressure;
- coolant temperature;
- battery charging;
- immediate stop (STOP);
- engine self-diagnosis.
When you press the brake pedal, the warning lights turn off:
- control / indication of the presence of a burnt out light bulb;

Starting a cold engine
4. Turn the ignition key to position M and wait until the preheat warning light goes out. Then start the engine and release the ignition key.
Starting a warm engine is usually done without preheating. However, if the engine does not start or stalls immediately, perform a preheat start after waiting a few seconds after the failed attempt.
Features of starting a diesel engine with a volume of 2.5 liters
5. Depress the clutch pedal and start the engine after the preheat warning light goes out if the engine is cold. A warm engine can be started without preheating by also depressing the clutch pedal.
6. Release the clutch pedal when the tachometer shows 1200 rpm.
Vehicles with a turbocharged diesel engine
7. Start a cold engine and wait a while to allow the engine to stabilize. This can be recognized by the reading of the tachometer.
Attention! Before shutting off a turbocharged diesel engine, make sure the engine is running at idle speed. After a long drive at high speed, wait a while before turning off the engine.
