- connect the red jumper wire to the positive "+" terminals of both batteries;
- connect one end of the black or green jumper wire to the negative "-" terminal of the auxiliary battery;
- connect the other end of the black or green jumper wire to a grounded part of the vehicle located as far away from the battery as possible;
- turn on the starter and start the engine;
- wait until the engine is idling steadily and remove the connecting wires.
