Water pump — removal and installation (Peugeot J5)

The water pump cannot be repaired and must be replaced if damaged.

If there are leaks or the pump bearing is broken, the water pump must be replaced. The water pump is driven by a timing belt. This means that, as mentioned, access to the water pump requires removal of the timing drive components. This also requires bolts and rods to lock the valve timing mechanism. Under these conditions, when these devices are prepared or made independently, the water pump is simply removed from the cylinder block.
