Kick-down
The Forced Predictive Downshift, or KICK-DOWN, device provides maximum vehicle acceleration under given driving conditions. As soon as the pressure on the accelerator pedal exceeds a certain threshold value, depending on the engine speed and road speed, a shift to one of the lower gears takes place. The reverse shift to the next higher gear will follow only when the maximum permissible value of the crankshaft speed is reached.
Attention! Be aware that on slippery roads, the drive wheels may begin to spin when forced to advance downshift.
