Location of gaskets on the exhaust ports on the cylinder head
Removal
1. Disconnect the hot air supply hose to the engine fuel system from the exhaust manifold.
2. Remove the screws and remove the cover from the top of the exhaust manifold.
3. Unscrew the nuts securing the exhaust inlet pipe to the exhaust manifold, then unscrew the bolt securing the exhaust inlet pipe to the unit's suspension. Disconnect the exhaust inlet pipe from the manifold and remove the gasket.
4. If available, loosen the nuts and release the power steering and cooling system pipes from the suspensions.
5. Unscrew the nuts securing the exhaust manifold to the head, remove the manifold and gasket.
Installing in the original place
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points:
- check the exhaust manifold struts for wear and corrosion;
- check that the mating surfaces of the manifold and head are clean and dry. Install a new manifold gasket and manifold, and tighten the mounting nuts to the specified torque;
- connect the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold.
