Please note: This information only applies to the anti-theft system fitted by Peugeot as standard equipment.
The anti-theft system is switched on and off by a miniature transmitter. After switching on the system, the indicator located on the central console lights up constantly. In addition to the anti-theft system, there is an immobilizer that prevents the car engine from starting. The immobilizer is switched off by a key block installed in the instrument panel on the driver's side. The immobilizer control lamp is located in the central part of the instrument panel.
Anti-theft alarm system
Warning! If the car doors are closed and opened with the key, the anti-theft alarm system will not sound. If the transmitter does not turn off the system when the alarm is sounding, it can be turned off with the key. To do this, open the door with the key and enter the car. The alarm will sound because the door is open. Turn on the ignition and press the small signal button located on the center console. These actions must be performed within 10 seconds of opening the door.
The anti-theft system has switches on the hood, rear door and side doors, as well as motion sensors inside the car. To deactivate the anti-theft system, turn on the ignition and press the button on the center console for 2 seconds, after which the anti-theft system indicator light will light for 3 seconds, indicating that it is deactivated. To reactivate the anti-theft system, turn it on using the remote control transmitter.
Immobilizer
Warning! Do not forget the immobilizer code. If the correct code cannot be entered, the electronic engine control unit will have to be replaced.
The immobilizer prevents the engine from starting unless a special code is entered into the immobilizer control panel located at the bottom of the instrument panel on the driver's side. The immobilizer code can be changed at will. If the immobilizer control panel lights up green when the ignition is turned on, the engine can be started without entering the immobilizer code. If the immobilizer control panel lights up red, the engine will not start and an alarm will sound when it is started.
Disconnecting the battery
Before disconnecting the battery, the anti-theft system must be completely turned off. After connecting the battery, it is necessary to activate the anti-theft system with the remote control transmitter.
