2. Remove the corresponding front wheel.
3. Cars with ABS. Release the ABS sensor wire (wheel speed sensor) from the holder on the suspension strut.
4. Unscrew the nut 1 of the ball joint pin of the transverse arm to the steering knuckle, as well as the nut 2, with which the anti-roll bar is attached to the stabilizer bar (see illustration).
2.4 Unscrew the nut 1 of the ball joint pin of the transverse arm to the steering knuckle, as well as the nut 2, with which the anti-roll bar is attached to the stabilizer bar
5 Press out with a suitable puller «A» ball joint pin of the transverse arm from the steering knuckle (see illustration 2.4), and then unscrew the bolt 1, with which the lower part of the suspension strut is attached to the steering knuckle (see illustration 2.5).
2.5 Unscrew the bolt 1, with which the lower part of the suspension strut is attached to the steering knuckle
A - a protrusion that ensures the correct mounting position of the shock absorber
B - slot (lock) hole in which the lower part of the suspension strut is attached
C - locking protrusions that prevent the displacement of the shock absorber from thin down
Attention! Secure the drive shaft so that it does not fall after the suspension strut is removed.
6. Vehicles with suspension control unit. Remove the protective pad 3 from the mudguard, wring out the latches and remove the filter cover 4, disconnect the plug 5 and remove the filter 6 (see illustration).
2.6 Remove the protective pad 3 from the mudguard, press the latches and remove the filter cover 4, disconnect the plug 5 and remove the filter 6. Cars with a suspension control unit
7. Unscrew the three bolts 7 that secure the upper shock absorber support to the mudguard (see illustration 2.6).
8. Insert a socket wrench or special tool into the slot of the hole on the steering knuckle «A» and turn it in the direction of the arrow (see illustration), to increase the width of the slot, which will allow the lower part of the suspension strut to be removed by turning the knuckle a quarter of a turn.
2.8 Insert a socket wrench or special tool into the slot of the hole on the steering knuckle «A» and turn it in the direction of the arrow to increase the slot width
Attention! Before removing the suspension strut, it is recommended to compress its spring with suitable clamping handles, such as FACOM or MG INTERNATIONAL, which are used in PEUGEOT specialist workshops.
9. Compress the shock absorber spring with the special clamping handles FACOM or MG INTERNATIONAL (see illustration, parts «A» And «b»).
Attention! To remove the suspension strut using the MG INTERNATIONAL clamping handle, install the handle as shown in illustration 2.9, and then tighten nuts 8 and 9, thereby compressing the strut spring.
2.9 Compress the suspension strut spring with the special clamping handles
10. Remove the suspension strut by pushing it up, and then tilt it and slide it out through the wheel arch (see arrows in illustration).
2.10 Remove the suspension strut by pushing it up and then tilt it and slide it out through the wheel arch (see arrows)
Attention! The suspension strut is removed together with the anti-roll bar attached to it.
Installation of an amortization rack is made in sequence, return to removal.
