Clutch — general information (Peugeot J5)

The vehicles are equipped with a dry single-plate clutch with a driving disc with diaphragm springs. The clutch is cable driven.

The drive disc and diaphragm springs cannot be disassembled and are replaced as a set if damaged. It should be taken into account that not all models described have the same clutch. This applies to the clutch diameter and the availability of design options for petrol and diesel engines. Therefore, when purchasing a new clutch, you should indicate the engine number, chassis number and, above all, the year of manufacture. The clutch release mechanism and driven disc were repeatedly modified during production from 1982 to 1989. In addition, a larger-diameter flywheel was installed on the 2.0-liter gasoline engine starting in 1989.
