Gearbox heat exchanger
1 – coolant hose, 2 – coolant hose, 3 – heat exchanger mounting bolt, 4 – heat exchanger
Removal
1. The heat exchanger is mounted on the top of the gearbox housing. To access the heat exchanger, remove the air supply pipes to the engine.
2. Using a clamp, pinch both coolant supply hoses to the heat exchanger to reduce coolant loss.
3. Loosen the clamps and disconnect both coolant hoses from the heat exchanger.
4. Unscrew the central heat exchanger mounting bolt and remove the heat exchanger from the gearbox. Remove two sealing rings from the heat exchanger.
Heat exchanger sealing rings
1 – inner sealing ring, 2 – outer sealing ring, 3 – central bolt sealing ring
Installation
Lubricate the new sealing rings with clean transmission fluid and install them on the heat exchanger base. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, after which it is necessary to add coolant to the cooling system.
