Contact group of the ignition switch
Removing
1. Remove the negative terminal from the battery.
2. Open the key block cover and disconnect the electrical connector. Rotate the clamp 90°and remove the fuse box cover. Unscrew the mounting screws and remove the lower trim of the instrument panel.
3. Unscrew screws of fastening of the bottom casing of a steering column and remove the top and lower casings from a column.
4. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the first position. Slide the fastening bracket, return the key to the non-working position and remove it from the ignition lock.
5. Remove the contact group mounting bracket from the ignition switch.
6. Remove the contact group from the back of the ignition lock housing.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector located on the wires of the contact group of the ignition switch.
Installation
1. Before installation, align the holes in the center of the contact group with the lock cylinder. Due to the asymmetric shape of the control pin of the lock cylinder, the contact group can only be installed in one position.
2. Install the contact group of the ignition lock in its rear part and secure with a bracket.
3. Turn the key in the ignition lock to the first position so that the lock cylinder is fully aligned with the housing. Slide the mounting bracket into place and check the operation of the ignition switch.
4. Connect the ignition switch connector to the main wiring harness.
5. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Ignition lock cylinder
Removing
1. Remove the contact group of the ignition switch.
2. Slide the ignition lock cylinder out of the housing, marking the location of the steering column lock. Remove the cover from the lock cylinder.
3. Pay attention to the location of the dowel pins in the ignition lock housing and remove them if necessary.
Installation
1. Align the steering column lock with the ignition lock cylinder and install the decorative cover on the ignition lock cylinder. Check that the dowel pins are in place in the ignition lock housing. Install the ignition lock cylinder assembly into the housing. At the same time, align the steering column lock with the groove in the housing.
2. Establish contact group of the lock of ignition.
Egnition lock
Attention! When installing the ignition lock, new shear bolts must be used.
Removing
1. Remove the negative terminal from the battery. Remove the steering wheel.
2. Disconnect the ignition switch connector from the main wiring harness.
3. Using a hammer and punch (punch), unscrew the shear bolts of the ignition lock (indicated by arrows), tapping their edges with a drift around the axis until they can be unscrewed by hand. Unscrew the bolts completely and remove the ignition lock from the steering column.
Installation
1. Install the ignition switch to the steering column and secure with new shear bolts.
2. Tighten the shear bolts evenly and gradually until they are lightly tightened. Check the operation of the ignition switch, then tighten each bolt just enough to shear off the bolt head.
3. Connect the ignition switch electrical connector to the main wiring harness.
