Examination
1. The reversing light is switched on by a plunger-type switch screwed into the top of the gearbox housing. If the reversing light does not switch on, first check the integrity of the fuse.
2. To check the switch, remove the air filter housing and disconnect the electrical connector from the switch. Using a voltmeter, check the resistance between the switch contacts with the reverse gear engaged. The resistance should be zero. Otherwise, the switch must be replaced.
Removal
1. Remove the air filter housing.

2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch (indicated by the arrow), then unscrew the switch with the sealing washer from the gearbox.
Installation
Install a new sealing washer on the switch, screw the switch into the gearbox housing to the required torque. Connect the electrical connector and check the operation of the switch. Install the previously removed parts.
