Examination
1. The reversing light is switched on by a plunger-type switch, which is screwed into the upper part of the gearbox housing. If the reversing light does not turn on, check the fuse first.
2. To test the switch, remove the air filter housing and disconnect the electrical connector from the switch. Using a voltmeter, check the resistance between the switch contacts with reverse gear engaged. The resistance must be zero. Otherwise, the switch must be replaced.
Removing
1. Remove the air filter housing.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch (indicated by an arrow), then unscrew the switch with sealing washer from the gearbox.
Installation
Install a new sealing washer on the switch, screw the switch into the gearbox housing to the required torque. Connect the electrical connector and check the operation of the switch. Install previously removed parts.
