Removal



1. Remove the inner door trim and the insulating pad underneath the trim.

2. Disconnect the inner and outer window opening seals.

3. Remove the side guides 1 of the glass, and also disconnect the glass from the support 2 of the window regulator (see illustration).

4. Lift the glass up on the window regulator support and then remove it from the window opening.

5. Disconnect the wires from the window lift motor.

6. Unscrew the 3 window lifter mounting bolts and remove the mechanism from the door cavity through the opening (see illustration 8.3).

Important: The window lift mechanism is usually held to the door with rivets that will need to be drilled out. After removing the window regulator, use a vacuum cleaner to remove any shavings and rivet remains that have fallen into the door cavity.


The window regulator is installed in the reverse order of its removal.

8. Secure the window lift mechanism with rivets, flattening them with appropriate pliers.
