Central steering position (Peugeot J5)

When adjusting and checking the toe-in, the steering must be set to the center position. This is also required for all work that requires the steering to be in the center position.

• Move the steering wheel all the way to one side. Place a piece of adhesive tape on the top side of the steering wheel. Draw a line on the sticky tape.
• Turn the steering wheel to the opposite stop and count the exact number of turns of the steering wheel.
• Divide the measured value by 2 and turn the steering wheel exactly this number of turns.
• Check that the wheels are positioned exactly in the straight ahead position.
• If this is not the case, adjust the steering rod on the outward side of the wheel to set the wheel to the straight ahead position.
• Check the position of the steering wheel. If it is not in the center position, move the steering wheel accordingly.
