Rear suspension (Peugeot J5)

Construction. Two longitudinal leaf springs. Each spring has two main and two additional leaves. The exception is vehicles with soft suspension and camper vans.

Fastening of spring leaves:

• front - spring pins and pivoting support
• back - pendant on earrings

Buffers - two rubber buffers on each side

Bump stops - installed in shock absorbers

Rear wheel alignment angles

Toe-in (not adjustable — - 1.0 — +1.0 mm (not regulated)

Wheel bearing clearances: 0.025-0.10 mm

Wheel Bearing Sizes - The 188 has wider wheel bearings

Wheel hub nut tightening torque:

• until June 1986 - 105 nm (thread 20.0 mm)
• since June 1986 - 170 nm (thread 22.0 mm)
