Replacing the clutch release bearing requires removing the gearbox. Release the bearing from the inside of the clutch basket and pull it forward. The release bearing is sealed and should not be placed in any cleaning liquids. The release bearing should move easily without jamming.

The bearing is installed in reverse order. Before installing the bearing, lubricate the splined joints of the clutch shaft and the outer surfaces of the guide sleeve of the clutch release bearing with graphite grease (molykote BR2 lubricant is recommended). Lubricate the clutch release lever on both sides with general purpose grease. The release bearing must be replaced along with the clutch and driven disc, as sometimes a newly installed clutch has to be removed again due to the release bearing becoming noisy shortly after the clutch has been replaced.
