Troubleshooting (Peugeot Partner I)

Engine

• The engine does not turn when trying to start
• The engine turns over but does not start
• Starting a cold engine is difficult
• Starting a warm engine is difficult
• Increased noise or knocking when the starter is engaged
• The engine starts but immediately stalls
• The engine runs unevenly when idling
• Misfires when the engine is idling
• Misfires during engine operation throughout the entire speed range
• The engine runs rough when accelerating
• The engine stalls
• Insufficient engine power
• Engine popping sounds
• The oil pressure warning light comes on when the engine is running
• The engine continues to run after the ignition is turned off
• Engine noises

Cooling system

• Overheat
• Hypothermia
• External coolant leak
• Internal coolant leak
• Corrosion

Fuel system and exhaust system

• Increased fuel consumption
• Fuel leak and/or odor
• Increased noise or smoke coming from the exhaust system

Clutch

• The pedal drops to the floor when pressed - there is no or very little resistance to pressing
• Unable to disengage the clutch (impossible to shift gears)
• The clutch is slipping (when the engine speed increases, the car's speed does not increase)
• Jerking (vibration) when engaging the clutch
• Noise when pressing or releasing the clutch pedal

Manual transmission

• Noise in neutral position with engine running
• Noise in one of the gears
• Difficulty shifting gears
• Spontaneous gear shifting
• Vibration
• Oil leaks

Drive axle shafts

• Clicking or knocking noise when turning corners (at low speed with maximum steering angle)
• Vibration when accelerating or decelerating

Brake system

• The car pulls to one side when braking
• Noise (grinding or squealing) when braking
• Brake pedal travel too long
• The brake pedal is "soft" when pressed
• Too much pressure on the brake pedal is required to stop the car
• Intense vibration felt through the brake pedal or steering wheel when braking
• Brake drag
• Rear wheel lockup during normal braking

Suspension and steering

• The car pulls to the side
• Wheel beating or vibration
• Excessive longitudinal and/or lateral rocking when turning or braking
• the car is swaying or generally unstable
• Excessively "stiff" steering
• Increased steering play
• The power steering does not work
• Increased tire wear

Electrical equipment

• The battery runs out in a few days
• The battery charge indicator light does not go out when the engine is running
• The battery charging indicator light does not come on
• The lighting fixtures are not working
• Instrument readings are inaccurate or erratic
• The sound signal does not work or works poorly
• The windscreen/tailgate wipers do not work or are not working properly
