- put the car on a lift in a horizontal position;
- oil level/fill and drain plugs are located on the rear of the gearbox under the rear cover;
- clean the traffic jams and areas around from contamination;
- remove the oil level/fill plug from the gearbox;
- check the oil level with a curved wire, which should be at the bottom edge of the threaded hole;
- If necessary, add oil through the oil level check/fill port. Screw in and tighten the plug with a new oil level check/filler O-ring and tighten it to 35 Nm on the BE4R gearbox and 25 Nm on the MA gearbox;
- draining the oil for replacement will be faster and more efficient if it is carried out after the engine has warmed up to operating temperature and after a trip to warm up the gearbox;
- install a receiving pan under the gearbox to collect oil;
- unscrew the oil drain plug and drain the oil from the gearbox;
- fill the gearbox with oil and check its level;
- screw in the level/fill plug with a new O-ring and tighten it to 22 Nm on the BE4R gearbox and 25 Nm on the MA gearbox.
