Mirror glass
There are many different methods of attaching mirror glass.
On some mirrors, the glass cannot be replaced and the mirror assembly must be replaced.
On early models the glass may be held in place using adhesive plates, on later mirror types the glass may be supported by a wiring bracket or locking ring.
Removing
1. To remove the mirror glass secured by the locking ring, tilt the glass all the way up, then insert a screwdriver at the bottom of the glass and remove the locking ring.
2. To remove the glass of the mirror fixed with a bracket (in the picture on the left) electrical wiring, from the lower edge of the glass, unclench the fastening bracket.
3. Remove the mirror glass and disconnect the electrical wiring.
Glass adjustment mechanism
The mechanism for adjusting the position of the mirror is integral with the assembly of the mirror. If it is defective, the mirror must be replaced as an assembly.
