Removing
XUD 9 engine
1. Remove the air separation element.
Engine XUD 7TE
2. Remove the turbocharger air cooler and the air duct between the air filter and turbocharger.
3. Remove the injection pipes and the mechanical and electrical connections of the pump.
4. Remove the upper drive cover and remove it by sliding it forward and then up.
5. Unscrew the glow plugs.
6. Rotate the crankshaft to the high pressure fuel pump locking position.
7. Fix the pump pulley with two M8 bolts (1) (see fig. Installation locations of the bolts blocking the high pressure fuel pump pulley), tightening the bolts by hand:
- in the Bosch pump - M8x125x35;
- in the Roto Diesel pump - M8x125x30.
8. Remove the three pump mounting nuts at the front and the rear pump mounting screw.
9. Unscrew the nuts securing the high pressure fuel pump pulley.
10. Remove the pulley from the pump.
11. Turn the pump out.
12. Remove the pump.
Installation
1. Remove the cuff tightening the pump pulley (2 bolts).
2. Install the pump in an appropriate location by tilting it forward. Pay attention to the correct position of the keyway on the pulley (indicated by an arrow).
3. Tighten by hand the three pump mounting nuts at the front and the rear pump mounting bolt.
4. Install the pulley nut in the appropriate place and tighten it to a torque of 50 Nm.
5. Fasten the cuff tightening the pulley (2 bolts).
6. Unscrew the two bolts fixing the pulley (do not rotate the engine crankshaft).
7. Set the injection timing correctly.
