Remove the high pressure fuel regulator on the high pressure fuel pump in the following order:
  • remove the engine protective cover;
  • disconnect the negative battery cable;

  • disconnect, close with plugs and move aside tubes 4 and 6 (figure 4.99);
  • lift and move the fuel filter 5;
  • release from the clamps and move aside the lower hoses 2 and 3;
  • remove support 1 of the fuel filter;

  • disconnect connector 2 (figure 4.100);
  • clean and vacuum away dirt around fuel pressure regulator 1;

Caution: Do not use a screwdriver to remove the pressure regulator.



  • unscrew the two bolts 3 securing the regulator;
  • remove the pressure regulator 1 manually by turning it right and left half a circle and simultaneously pulling it out;

  • close the resulting hole with a plug 1 (figure 1.101).

Install the high pressure fuel regulator on the high pressure fuel pump in the following order:

  • remove plug 1 (see figure 4.101);

Note: Use a mirror to ensure that the seat where the pressure regulator was located is free of dirt and clean and vacuum if necessary.

  • install new bushing and seals on the pressure regulator and lubricate them with Vaseline (or similar composition);

  • install the pressure regulator in fixture 1 (figure 4.102) and tighten the bolts of the 2 fixtures to the end of the thread;
  • insert teflon disc 4 between pressure regulator and device 1;
  • tighten the central bolt 3 in such a way as to hold the pressure regulator at the inlet to its seat without damaging the seal;
  • press in the pressure regulator using tool 1 until it touches the fuel injection pump body;
  • remove fixture 1;
  • reinstall bolts 3 (see figure 4.100);
  • pre-tighten bolts 3 to a torque of (2.5±0.2) Nm;
  • finally tighten the bolts 3 to a torque of (9±1) Nm;
  • reconnect connector 2;
  • install support 1 (see figure 4.99) fuel filter;
  • install hoses 2 and 3 in place;
  • install fuel filter 5;
  • reconnect fuel lines 4 and 6;
  • connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery;
  • turn the ignition on and off (about 3 times);
  • start the engine;
  • increase engine speed to 4000 min⁻¹;
  • make sure there are no fuel leaks in the connections and error codes;
  • check the operation of the vehicle components under road conditions by driving at least 30 km, stopping and starting the engine several times, accelerating with the accelerator pedal fully depressed.
