1. Remove air from the fuel system.

2. Adjust the idle speed.

3. Remove the cylinder head cover.

4. Set the engine crankshaft so that the exhaust valve of cylinder No.1 is at the beginning of opening.

5. Remove the inspection hole cover (indicated by the arrow), located at the rear of the pump.



6. Tilt the pump away from the engine.

7. Install the extension (1) in the inspection hole (see picture Bracket and extension of dial indicator for mounting Roto Diesel pump).

8. Attach the dial indicator to the bracket (2).

9. Fasten the indicator-bracket assembly (2) to the pump together with the tip (3).

10. Connect the intermediate element (a) to the extension (1) and reset the dial indicator.

11. Turn the engine crankshaft to the position where the valves of cylinder No.1 begin to open (this corresponds to TDC of the piston of cylinder No.4).

12. Fix the engine flywheel in this position.

13. Slowly turn the pump in the injection advance direction to set the value to 0.001 mm.

14. Tighten the pump fasteners to the appropriate torque.

Checking the installation



The installation is checked in the same way as with the Bosch pump (see description in subsection 3.2.4).
