1. Disconnect the wire terminal «masses- (-) from the negative pole of the battery.
2. Unscrew bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders and remove a cover.
3. Turn the engine clockwise until reference mark 1 on the camshaft sprocket aligns with mark 2 on the balancing shaft sprocket (see illustration).
2.3 Rotate the engine until reference mark 1 on the camshaft sprocket aligns with mark 2 on the balance shaft sprocket
4. Unscrew the plug 4 from the hole on the protective cover of the timing gear drive, which closes the bolt of the camshaft sprocket (see illustration 2.3).
5. Loosen the tension of the balance shaft drive chain by compressing the tensioner spring with a suitable tool [1] such as 0164-F, which is used by specialist workshops (see illustration).
2.5 Release the balance shaft drive chain tension by compressing the tensioner spring with a suitable tool [1]
6. Unscrew the bolt 5 of the drive sprocket 6 of the balancing shaft to the camshaft with the socket head and remove it (see illustration 2.5).
7. Unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the sprocket from the balancing shaft along with the chain (see illustration 2.5).
8. Check up ease of a course of directing asterisks. If necessary, remove the circlips holding the sprockets and replace the sprockets.
Attention! When dismantling the sprockets, it is recommended to close the cavity of the gas distribution mechanism drive with a clean rag to prevent parts of the balance shaft drive from falling there.
