47. Install the stop 45, which limits the axial runout of the camshaft, lubricating the threads of the bolt 44 of the stop fastening with Loctite Frenetanch. Apply a thin layer of Molykote spray on surface A (see illustration).
4.47 Mount stop 45 by lubricating the threads of stop bolt 44 with Loctite Frenetanch
48. Install the hooks 51 of wire 3 mm in diameter into the holes for the centering bushings 49, and then insert the bushings and pull out the bushings with the hooks to the desired height (see illustration).
4.48 Install the hooks 51 of 3 mm wire into the holes for the centering sleeves 49, and then insert the sleeves
49. Lay new gaskets and block heads on the cylinder blocks and secure them by screwing in the bolts securing the protective cover of the timing drive.
50. Install the sprockets with the drive chain on the camshafts, screw in and tighten the sprockets fastening bolts with a force of 80 Nm.
51. Install the ignition distributor, downpipes, oil cooler and oil filter.
52. Connect the catalysts to the exhaust pipes and screw in the lambda probes.
Attention! The tightening of the cylinder head bolts is carried out in several passes, acting in the ascending sequence of their numbering.
53. Screw in the bolts of the block heads and tighten them with a force of 60 Nm, acting in the sequence of increasing numbering of the bolts (see illustration).
4.53 Screw in the bolts of the block heads and tighten them with a force of 60 Nm, acting in the sequence of increasing numbering of the bolts
54. Completely loosen the bolts.
55. Tighten the head bolts to 40 Nm and then tighten them 180°with a torque wrench using an angle gauge (see illustration).
4.55 Tighten the head bolts to 40 Nm and then turn them 180°with a torque wrench using an angle gauge
56. Remove the tools that held the chain on the drive shaft sprockets and install the camshaft seals.
57. Screw a plug into the hole on the cover of the timing gear drive, which closes access to the camshaft sprocket mounting bolt. Plug tightening torque 20 Nm.
58. Tighten with force the bolts securing the timing cover to the cylinder head with a force of 12.5 Nm.
59. Install, in the reverse order of removal, all dismantled parts.
60. Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head covers, apply silicone sealant to the sealing surfaces of the covers, lay the covers and tighten the bolts 52 and 53 of their fastening (see illustration).
4.60 Screw in and tighten the cylinder head cover bolts
Attention! The tightening torque for socket head bolts 52 is 15 Nm and for hex head bolts 53 is 12.5 Nm.
