Attention! If an airbag is installed on the steering wheel, all work must be carried out in compliance with the prescribed safety regulations. We recommend entrusting professionals with all work related to the removal and installation of the steering wheel and steering shaft. This is primarily due to the safety of the operation of the car. In addition, the replacement of the steering shaft, if such a need arises, requires special care.
Removing
1. Put the front wheels in a straight position.
2. Remove the cover from the steering wheel to gain access to the wheel nut on the shaft.
3. Mark position of a steering wheel on a shaft, and then turn away a nut of fastening of a steering wheel and remove it from a shaft. If necessary, the steering wheel can be removed from the shaft cone by hitting it from below with the palms of your hands.
The steering wheel is installed in the reverse order. The steering wheel nut on the shaft is tightened with a torque of 33 Nm. The steering wheel itself should be kept from turning by hand. Do not use blocking (castle) steering column for this purpose.
