Important! The power steering fluid level in the reservoir must be checked regularly.
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. Place a container under the vehicle to collect the power steering fluid and unscrew the union nuts of the power steering lines. Plug the pipeline to prevent dirt from getting into it and move it to the side.
4. Turn the steering wheel several times from side to side from lock to lock. As a result of turning the steering wheel, the power steering cylinder will squeeze out fluid and it will leak out.
5. Connect the pipes and tighten the union nuts.
6. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. The power steering uses automatic transmission fluid.
7. Turn the steering wheel several times from side to side from lock to lock and add fluid to the reservoir. The engine should still be turned off.
8. Connect the battery and start the engine. Leave the engine idling and have an assistant slowly turn the steering wheel from side to side until it locks. At the same time, monitor the fluid level in the tank and top it up if necessary.
9. Turn off the engine and make sure the fluid level is normal. Otherwise, add or remove liquid.
