Air must be removed from the system after disconnecting the hydraulic elements of the system.
1. Remove the filler cap from the reservoir and check the fluid level.
2. With the engine off, slowly turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to bleed air from the system. Repeat this operation until the liquid level in the tank is significantly reduced.
3. Start the engine and slowly turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to purge air from the system. Repeat this operation until air bubbles no longer appear in the nutrient tank.
4. If there is abnormal noise in the power steering hydraulic system, this indicates that there is still air in the system.
5. After removing air from the system, turn off the engine and allow the system to cool. Check the fluid level in the tank, which should be at the top mark.
