Caution! Take all measures to prevent even the smallest contaminant particles from entering the hydraulic system. To top up and fill the hydraulic circuit of the power steering, use only fresh working fluid. Draining of used fluid must be done with the engine not running.
To replace the fluid:
- remove the decorative engine cover;

- remove cover 1 (figure 7.32) from the power steering hydraulic system reservoir;

- unscrew bolts 1 of the rear sub-engine frame mount (see Figure 7.8);
- on vehicles with DW10TD and DW10ATED engines, disconnect the exhaust system suspension mounts and the connecting element from the engine subframe;

- unscrew bolt 1 (figure 7.33) and lower the subframe by 30 mm;

- remove the heat-reflecting shield 1 (see Figure 7.10);
- loosen the clamps and disconnect the hydraulic circuit hoses near the valve;

- unscrew bolt 1 (see Figure 7.11) bracket fastenings;

- use a screwdriver blade to move the bracket 1 away (see Figure 7.12) valve. Proceed carefully to avoid damaging the valve;
- lower the ends of the hoses into the container;
- slowly turn the steering wheel left and right from lock to lock;
- wait until the oil has completely drained;

- install new sealing rings on the pipes 1 (figure 7.34);
- install the pipes in place and secure them with a bracket and bolt 1 (see Figure 7.11), tightening it to a torque of 20 Nm;
- further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- tighten bolts 1 (see Figure 7.33) sub-frame fastenings with a torque of 110 Nm;
- fill the power steering reservoir with fluid up to the "Max" mark on the level indicator attached to the cap;
- start the engine and slowly turn the steering wheel 10 times from lock to lock;
- add fluid to the power steering reservoir up to the "Max" mark.
To bleed air from the power steering hydraulic circuit:
- let the engine run at idle speed for 3 minutes without turning the steering wheel;
- add fluid as its level in the tank decreases;
- remove air by turning the steering wheel several times in each direction;
- add fluid as the level in the reservoir drops.
