- remove the steering gear;
- remove the hydraulic pipes from the steering gear. Close both openings in the crankcase of the steering mechanism with plastic plugs;
Attention! To prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic circuit of the power steering, close both openings of the control valve and both pipes with plastic plugs.
- unscrew the nut of the gear rack stop a few turns;
- turn out bolts of fastening of the distributive valve;
- fix the steering gear in a vise with two elastic jaws;

- turn the stem 1 of the control valve 2 with the key on the left (pic. 7.18) clockwise until it stops against the gear rack;
- after resting against the gear rack, continue to rotate the stem until the valve exits the steering gear housing. A spiral groove in the gear will allow the valve to be lifted;

- from the crankcase of the steering mechanism 1 remove the sealing ring 2 (pic. 7.19) distribution valve.
To install a diverter valve:
- install a new sealing ring 2 on the crankcase of the steering mechanism;

- apply a thin coat of TOTAL N3924/TOTAL N3945 grease to gear 1 (pic. 7.20) gear rack;
- install the distribution valve on the steering gear housing;
- with an inertial hammer, install the distribution valve in place through the mandrel;
- screw in the distribution valve mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 15 Nm;
Attention! Do not use the control valve mounting bolts to press it in.
- install o-rings on the hydraulic pipes and install the pipes in place;
- tighten the connecting nuts securing the hydraulic pipes to the control valve to 8 Nm;
- adjust the feed dog stop.
