- remove the wheel from the side of the boot to be replaced;
- remove the decorative battery cover;
- remove the mudguard of the left front wheel arch;

- remove bolt 1 (see fig. 5.20) mounting the battery support from under the arch of the left front wheel;
- remove the battery;
- remove the battery support;

- unscrew nut 2 (pic. 7.21) fastening the pin of the ball joint of the tie rod end to the steering knuckle, while being careful not to damage the protective cover of the constant velocity joint of the drive shaft;
- remove the ball joint from the steering knuckle using a puller 1;

- disconnect the ventilation tube 1 from the protective cover 2 (pic. 7.22);

- remove clamp 1 (pic. 7.23) attaching a protective cover to the steering rod;

- remove clamp 1 (pic. 7.24) fastening the protective cover to the steering mechanism;

- remove protective cover 1 (pic. 7.25), by moving it along the steering rod. Apply a light coat of TOTAL N3924/N3945 grease to the tie rod to ease the removal of the protective boot.
To install the tie rod boot:

- apply a thin layer of TOTAL N3924/ TOTAL N3945 grease to the surface of protective boot A (pic. 7.26), mounted on the tie rod;
- install a protective cover on the steering mechanism, putting it on through the steering rod;

- align the bearing surfaces of the protective cover 3 on the steering gear A and steering rod B (pic. 7.27);
- clamp 1 secure the protective cover on the steering mechanism;
- connect the ventilation tube 2 to the protective cover;
- fasten the protective cover 1 with a clamp (see fig. 7.23) on the tie rod;
- further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal;
- adjust wheel alignment.
