Removal

1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.

2. On models with power steering, drain the hydraulic system as follows:
  • remove the lid from the feed tank;
  • place a container under the high pressure pipe coupling on the steering gear, then unscrew the connection;
  • drain the liquid into a container;
  • finish draining the oil from the circuit by turning the steering wheel several times in both directions until it stops;
  • disconnect the low pressure hose from the steering gear.

disconnect the low pressure hose from the steering gear.

3. Secure the pump shaft from turning and loosen the pulley mounting bolts.

4. Loosen the alternator belt tensioner bolt and remove the pump drive belt.

5. Tilt the generator upwards and tighten the tensioner mounting bolt.

6. Unscrew the pump pulley mounting bolts and remove the pulley.

7. Disconnect the oil supply line to the pump.

8. Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the hose from the pump. If the hose clamp is a clamp type, discard it and install a new clamp with a screw.

8. Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the hose from the pump. If the hose clamp is a clamp type,…

9. Unscrew the two front and two rear pump mounting bolts.

9. Unscrew the two front and two rear pump mounting bolts.

10. Remove the power steering pump.

The pump cannot be repaired and must be replaced if there are any defects.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points:
  • tighten all bolts to the required torque;
  • adjust the drive belt tension;
  • add fluid to the steering system.
