To adjust the accelerator cable tension, it is necessary to remove the locking bracket that secures the cable sheath, and pull the throttle lever all the way and carefully tighten the cable until the resulting slack is eliminated. While holding the cable in this position, secure the washer to the end of the cable in the rubber bushing. After that, install the locking bracket to secure the cable sheath. Typically, the shackle is inserted into the third groove on the cable sheath, counting from the washer in the rubber bushing. In this case, the accelerator cable tension will be correct.
Have an assistant depress the accelerator pedal to make sure the cable is properly adjusted and the engine transitions to idle and full load smoothly.
