3.0 Accelerator cable fastening. The cable sheath is secured with a locking bracket
To adjust the tension of the accelerator cable, remove the locking clip that secures the cable sheath, pull the throttle lever all the way back and carefully tighten the cable until the slack is eliminated. While holding the cable in this position, secure the washer at the end of the cable into the rubber grommet. After this, install the locking bracket to secure the cable sheath. Typically the bracket is inserted into the third groove on the cable sheath, counting from the washer in the rubber bushing. In this case, the accelerator cable tension will be correct.
Have an assistant press the accelerator pedal to ensure that the cable is adjusted correctly and that the engine transitions from idle to full load without problems.
