Independent work on the fuel injection system is not allowed. Idle speed and CO content are controlled automatically by the electronic control unit and do not require maintenance, provided that all other elements of the fuel injection system are functioning normally.
If it is necessary to remove certain parts of the injection system, the following precautions must be observed so as not to injure yourself or damage the system itself.
- persons with a heart pacemaker are not allowed to work on the injection system;
- do not touch the wires of the ignition system when the engine is running or when the engine is started by the starter;
- it is not allowed to disconnect the wires of the injection and ignition systems with the ignition on. In such cases, it is recommended to disconnect the battery;
- to crank the engine with a starter, connect an auxiliary wire to the middle wire on the ignition coil, fix the other end to «mass» (-);
- when starting the engine from an auxiliary source, the engine can be rotated for no more than one minute with a maximum voltage of 16.5 V;
- when washing the engine, the ignition must be turned off;
- when carrying out welding work on the body, it is recommended to disconnect the battery;
- When towing the vehicle due to ignition problems, disconnect the power cable from the ECM to avoid damaging it.
