Each type of gasoline engine has its own fuel injection system, developed by Bosch or Magnetti Marelli. The installed fuel injection systems are multi-point. Each cylinder has its own fuel injector (see illustrations 1.0, 1.0a and 1.0b).

Independent work on the fuel injection system is not permitted. Idle speed and CO levels are controlled automatically by the electronic control unit and are maintenance-free, provided all other components of the fuel injection system are functioning properly.

If it becomes necessary to remove certain parts of the injection system, the following precautions should be taken to avoid injury to yourself or damage to the system itself.
  • people with pacemakers are not allowed to work on the injection system;
  • do not touch the ignition system wires while the engine is running or when the engine is started with the starter;
  • it is not allowed to disconnect the wires of the injection and ignition systems when the ignition is on. In such cases, it is recommended to disconnect the battery;
  • to turn the engine over with the starter, connect an auxiliary wire to the middle wire on the ignition coil, and attach the other end to the ground (-);
  • when starting the engine from an auxiliary source, the engine can be rotated for no more than one minute with a maximum voltage of 16.5 V supplied;
  • when washing the engine, the ignition must be turned off;
  • when carrying out welding work on the body, it is recommended to disconnect the battery;
  • when towing a vehicle due to ignition problems, disconnect the power wire from the ECU to avoid damaging it.
