Caution! To remove the heater, you must disconnect the air conditioner refrigerant lines. All work on the air conditioner should be entrusted to a specialized workshop.


Please note: Diesel-powered vehicles are additionally equipped with a WEBASTO parking heater (see illustration 5.0)

Removal



1. Remove the instrument panel, see the relevant chapter.

2. Disconnect the cabin filter air duct.

3. Disconnect the supply and return hoses from the heater radiator 1 (see illustration).

Caution! If you have special clamps, use them to clamp the outlet and inlet hoses of the heater radiator to prevent coolant leakage (see illustration 5.3). Otherwise, the liquid will have to be drained.




4. Drain the refrigerant from the air conditioner at a specialized workshop.

5. Unscrew bolt 2 and remove the bracket with the heater radiator pipes (see illustration 5.3).

6. Unscrew nuts 4 and disconnect pipes 5 (see illustration 5.3).

7. Unscrew bolts 6 and remove gear shift lever 7 and its housing (see illustration).

8. Unscrew bolts 8 and 9 that secure the steering column, as well as the steering shaft hinge bolt and remove the steering column (see illustration).

9. Disconnect the instrument panel and air conditioner wires, as well as the air duct holders.



10. Disconnect air ducts 10, ground wires 11 (-) and rod 12 (see illustration).

11. Unscrew bolts 13, 14 and 15 securing crossmember mounting brackets 16 and remove the crossmember (see illustration 5.10).

12. Disconnect air duct 17 and pipeline 18 (see illustration 5.10).

13. Unscrew bolt 19, and then remove the heater 20 by moving it in the direction of arrows A and B, and then disconnect the air duct of the floor deflector from it (see illustration).

The heater is installed in the reverse order of its removal.
