- Remove air from the fuel filter according to the instructions section 23.2. In this case, on pumps of earlier production, the pump piston does not block.
- Open the air release valve above the nameplate "Rioto-Diesel" and pump with the pump on the filter until fuel, free of air bubbles, flows out of the open valve.
- Tighten the air release valve on the pump.
- Tighten the piston on the early release pump (with screw cap).
- If difficulties arise when starting the engine, have an assistant pump the engine while simultaneously operating the starter. At the same time, keep the gas pedal pressed until the engine starts. If necessary, block the pump piston.
Removal air from the fuel injection device (Peugeot J5)
After disconnecting the hoses and pipes from the high-pressure fuel pump, when air may have entered the system, it is necessary to bleed the air in accordance with the following instructions to facilitate engine starting. The air is removed from the nozzles automatically, so there is no need to unscrew the nozzles.
