Examination
1. The operation of the brake system vacuum pump can be checked using a vacuum gauge.
2. Disconnect the vacuum line from the pump and, using a suitable piece of hose, connect the pressure gauge to the pump nipple.
3. Start the engine and let it idle, then measure the vacuum created by the pump. As a reference, a minimum vacuum of approximately 500 mmHg should be recorded after one minute.If the recorded value is significantly lower, it is possible that the pump is defective. However, before declaring the pump faulty, consult your Peugeot/Citroen dealer.
Repair
4. Repair of the vacuum pump is not possible. since no elements for it are supplied separately. If the pump is faulty, it should be replaced as an assembly.
