1. If the engine misfires under light load and at constant speeds of around 2500 rpm, the following checks can be performed (please note that this only applies to models with CAV/Roto-Diesel injection pumps, and not Bosch ones).
2. Check that the fuel hose between the fuel filter and the high-pressure fuel pump is not kinked.
3. Inspect the engine mounts and subframe brackets for secure fastening.
4. Check the ventilation of the fuel tank and make sure that no vacuum is created in it (a sign of the latter is a loud hissing sound when removing the fuel tank cap).
5. Check the tightness of all fuel line fittings and make sure that they do not leak air.
6. If you are unable to resolve the problem yourself, you should contact a Peugeot authorized service center to have modified pressure valves installed on the fuel injection pump.
