1. Remove the fuel pick-up unit from the tank as described in Chapter 4D. Remove the filter from the base of the pick-up unit (see illustration).

2. Wash the pick-up filter in fresh fuel to remove any debris from it. Inspect the filter for signs of clogging or splitting, and renew if necessary.

3. Fit the filter securely to the base of the pickup unit, then refit the unit to the fuel tank as described in Chapter 4B.
