2. On 1993 models (except for 205 and 309 turbo models) the fuel filter has been relocated to a housing on the cylinder head above the thermostat housing and head water jacket outlet. The new housing is equipped with a water detector and a drain plug at the base. A manual priming pump and a two-valve return system are provided.

3. To pump fuel, turn on the ignition and squeeze it with your hand several times "pear" manual priming pump (until resistance begins to be felt). The bleed screws do not need to be opened. The swapping procedure is described in more detail in the corresponding section.
Draining the fuel and replacing the filter (models since 1993)
4. Before removing the filter, drain the fuel from its housing by loosening the drain plug. If not already done, connect a plastic tube to the stopper and lower the other end of the tube into a suitable container. Caution: If fuel from the filter housing is spilled onto the engine, it may enter the clutch and damage the friction linings.
5. After draining the fuel, unscrew the cover bolts, remove it and pull out the filter. If you are not going to change the filter, you should inspect the rubber seal before replacing it. The filter is installed in the reverse order. When finished, add fuel as described above. Removing the water detector shouldn't be a problem (see pictures).
