Removal the instrument panel

Removal



1. Remove the negative cable from the battery.

2. Remove the steering wheel.

3. Remove the steering column covers.

4. Remove the instrument cluster.

5. Remove the radio.

6. Unscrew the mounting screws and remove the wings from the center console.

7. Remove the headlight beam adjuster.

8. Remove the ashtray from its socket.

8. Remove the ashtray from its socket.
8. Remove the ashtray from its socket.

9. Unscrew two bolts (indicated by arrows on the left) in the ashtray socket and one bolt (indicated by the arrow on the right) in the radio receiver installation socket.



10. Unscrew the two screws securing the top of the shelf.

12. Unscrew four screws (indicated by arrows), securing the heater panel.

13. Turn the two mounting brackets a quarter turn, then lower the fuse box down away from the panel.

14. Unscrew the two bolts securing the hood release lever located under the panel.

15. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the instrument panel lighting rheostat.

16. Disconnect the two main connectors (indicated by arrows) from the fuse box.

17. Disconnect the instrument cluster wire harnesses on the left and right sides, marking them for proper reinstallation.

18. Remove the driver's side front trim panel and unscrew the bolt (indicated by the arrow) ground busbar fastenings.

19. Unscrew the bolt and remove the relay hanger from the lower steering column hanger.

20. At the rear of the engine compartment, unscrew the three nuts (indicated by an arrow) instrument panel fastenings.

22. Unscrew the two lower instrument panel mounting bolts located on both sides of the center console.

23. Unscrew the top bolt (indicated by the arrow) instrument panel mounts located behind the heating and ventilation system controls.

24. Remove the reinforcement located between the instrument panel and the gearshift mechanism element holder.

25. Remove the speedometer drive cable.

26. Remove the instrument cluster electrical wiring harness and the interior heating and ventilation system controls.

27. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the brake light switch.

28. Disconnect the wiring from the cigarette lighter and ashtray light.

29. Remove the instrument panel and remove it from the vehicle through the door opening.

Installation



To install the instrument panel, perform the steps in reverse order to the removal process and check whether the sealing gaskets are on the front intermediate elements.
