The camshaft is installed in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.

17. Clean the sealing surfaces of the cylinder head and bearing housing, as well as the hole A of the camshaft position sensor (see illustration 4.13).

18. Apply a thin layer of engine oil to the bearing journals and camshaft lobes.

19. Install the camshaft in its seat by installing the limit stop 12 and placing the gear 11 of the camshaft position sensor on the rear end of the shaft (see illustration).

20. Drive in a new camshaft seal using a suitable drift, such as drift "a", part number 0178-F (see illustration).

21. Apply a coat of SILICONE CATEGORIE 2 sealant around the perimeter of the camshaft bearing housings (see illustration).

22. Make sure the valve rocker arms are properly installed on the axles (see illustration).

23. Install the camshaft bearing housing into its seat.

24. Lock the crankshaft by installing a suitable thrust pin in the appropriate hole.

25. Install key 17, gear hub 13 on the camshaft and secure the hub with a new nut 26, having first installed spacer washer 25 (see illustration).

26. Lock the camshaft by installing a suitable thrust roller "a" in the appropriate hole (see illustration 4.25).



27. Tighten the camshaft bearing housing bolts in a spiral pattern: tighten the 8x125 70 mm long bolts to 15 Nm, and the 8x125 55 mm long bolts to 20 Nm.

28. Install a new cylinder head cover gasket and then the cylinder head cover (see illustration)

29. Tighten the cylinder head cover mounting bolts to 10 Nm, acting in a spiral, starting with the outer bolt.
