1. If the engine is on the machine, then before removing the camshaft, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head. If the engine has already been removed and moved to the desktop, it is necessary to remove the timing cover and the timing mechanism itself. In addition, the front end of the engine must be disassembled before the rockers are removed, and since after that, the cylinder head will not hold, it is necessary to temporarily install the bolts back (all camshaft holes). Alternatively, you can remove the head and then proceed to remove the camshaft.
2. After removing the rockers and camshaft sprocket, unscrew the camshaft plate bolt and remove the bolt and plate.
3. Carefully slide the camshaft out of its bearings in the cylinder head towards the timing chain and pull it out. Be careful not to damage the bearing surfaces with the sharp edges of the camshaft lobes.
