1. Turn off the ignition and make sure the wiper brushes are in the correct position.
2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Remove the cap from the axle of the wiper arm.
4. Turn away a nut of the lever.
5. Disconnect the lever. When doing this, be careful not to hit the glass with the lever. The lever seat is usually tight, so do not unscrew the nut completely, but leave it on the tip of the axle and loosen the lever seat by rocking from side to side.
Replacement of the rubber band is carried out in accordance with the installation instructions included with the purchase of the band.
The brush and lever are installed in the reverse order of removal. Before installing the lever on the axle, make sure that the axle is in the brush park position. After installing the brushes, make sure that they work in the desired path for cleaning the glass.
Attention! If, in the event of heavy snowfall, the windshield wiper lever cannot return to its original position, the drive motor remains energized and its winding may «break through», if after a while the wiper does not return to its place. In the event of such a situation, you should, observing safety measures, stop as soon as possible and move the brushes away from the glass so that the levers return to their original position.
If the brush remains on the glass when the ignition is turned off and does not move to the parking position, then this is not a sign of a defect at all. Turn on the ignition and the brush will return to its original position.
