- Pull the handbrake lever until it clicks three times.
- Place the car on stands.
- Tighten the nut in the middle of the handbrake cable equalizer (Figure 190) before the wheels begin to be braked by the brake pads. Tighten the lock nut.

Check the operation of the handbrake. The wheels should be braked when the handbrake lever is pulled the specified number of clicks. When you release the handbrake lever, the rear wheels should turn freely.
