Removal
1. To access the parking brake adjuster nut, remove the rear section of the center console as described in chapter 11.
2. Place wheel chocks under the front wheels. Raise the rear of the vehicle and place secure supports underneath it (see "Lifting and installing the car on supports").
3. Release the parking brake, then loosen the parking brake adjuster nut so that the adjuster stud can be removed from the equalizer plate (figure 13.5).
4. Disconnect the electrical connector of the parking brake activation indicator switch and release the cable from the corresponding clamp.
5. Unscrew the three nuts and remove the lever from the support studs (figure 14.5). Remove the adjuster pin from the equalizer plate and remove the lever assembly from the vehicle.

Installation
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Before installing the center console, adjust the parking brake as described in paragraph 13.
