Removal
1. On left-hand drive models, remove the battery and battery tray as described in chapter 5A. Depending on the model and the work space, to facilitate access to the brake booster, remove the air filter and the remaining components of the air intake duct as described in the relevant section chapter 4.
2. Release the clamp or press the tabs on the quick release coupling and disconnect the vacuum line from the brake booster check valve.
3. Remove the valve from the rubber sealing grommet in the brake booster using a pulling and rotating motion. Remove the sealing bushing from the vacuum booster.
Examination
4. Inspect the check valve for signs of damage and replace it if necessary. The valve can be tested by blowing through the hose in both directions. Air should only flow through the valve in one direction - when you blow from the booster side. If this is not the case, replace the valve.

5. Inspect the booster rubber grommet and vacuum hose for signs of damage or deterioration and replace if necessary.
Installation
6. Insert the sealing sleeve into the brake booster.
7. Install the check valve in place, working carefully so as not to displace or damage the sealing sleeve.
8. Connect the vacuum line to the check valve.
9. On left-hand drive models, install the battery tray and battery (refer to chapter 5A). Install the air filter and air intake duct components removed for access as described in the relevant section chapter 4.
10. Finally, connect the battery, start the engine and check for air leaks in the brake booster check valve.
