10. Measure the remaining thickness of the brake disc using a micrometer. Since the surface of the brake disc wears unevenly, the measurement should be taken at several points along the entire circumference of the disc. The permissible remaining thickness of the disc is indicated in the specifications. If necessary, replace the brake disc with a new one. If there are deep dents or grooves, the disc can be reground.

Caution: To ensure uniform braking on both sides, both brake discs must have identically ground surfaces with the same degree of roughness, so be sure to replace or grind both discs at the same time.


If the brake discs are replaced with new ones or the old ones were ground down, then the brake pads must also be replaced.

11. Check the brake disc runout by securing the brake disc with the wheel bolts. Then secure the dial indicator with the holder so that its measuring pin is approximately 2 mm from the outer edge of the disc (see illustration), and slowly rotate the disk. The permissible runout of the disk should not exceed 0.05 mm, otherwise, the disk must be replaced with a new one.
